Back from Halifax POP Explosion!

This last weekend I had the chance to go back to my university stomping ground, experience the almighty Halifax POP explosion and witness the celebration of their 20th anniversary.

WOW, why have I not gone before?  The lobster, the balmy ocean side weather, great company at the conference, oh and the SHOWS!   It was awesome.  I got to see a ton of stuff in some great venues including The Nymphets very own Jared and Johanna, who respectively curate the Symposium and Art POP segments.  Deer Tick, doing covers of Nirvana in the legendary and tiny Gus’s pub, two polaris nominees – Yamantaka // Sonic Titan and Cold Specks at the really cute and great sounding St. Matthew’s Church.  PEI’s English Words were the perfect fit at the Seahorse and not only did I get to see The Burning Hell at the company house (which I loved!), but I also have a cameo in their video (watch here)!

See ya next year Hali POP, and if anyone in Halifax gets a chance to check out the Halifax Cat Show, please give me a full report!
