First off, to call this article a vulture piece is incredibly unjust. I am not affiliated with Pop Montreal, but I do know that the only thing these people are looking for is a good time. They are avid fans that want to see their friends and the bands that they love make it beyond the streets of Montréal. They are not in it for the money or the glory, well maybe a little for the glory, maybe.
Secondly, I do realize that my Beatles comparison may seem a bit disproportionate, but if you look around and see how influential and loved this band really is, you would understand my point. They are indeed a phenomena, and they are about to see that for themselves after this album breaks the bank and the world starts to orbit around them. When I read such headings as, “Most Anticipated Tour Ever” – you must agree with me. This band has captured the world, and this may not be beneficial in terms of keeping the focus on the music and art, but God-damn - if they keep on the way their going I don’t have a doubt in my mind that the next album will be just as good. Yeah, I’m already looking forward to the next one. As well, I previously referred to Pavement in my last comment. The influence that Pavement had on the music of their and our generation is painfully prevalent, similarly to the hundreds of bands emerging that share the same mentality and musical attack as The Arcade Fire. Their influence in unavoidable, they are a phenomena. Deal with it.
- A proud Arcade Fire fan.
