Ahoy there! Do you like treasure? We’re not talking about boring old gold and silver either. We’re talking about modern day treasure. We’re talking about treasure that you can actually make use of. Here’s a better question for you…Do you like hunting for treasure? If so we have got just the event for you. Mark your calendars because on August 28th, Meet You At The Show, in association with Pop Montreal, would like to present to you Quest for the Fest! That’s right, a one day treasure hunt around our great city where can you win a whole bunch of great prizes along with a grand prize that you are really going to want to get your hands on. We’ve got all the details for you after the jump. Ar!

On Saturday, August 28th, what we want you to do is dress up in your finest pirate gear and kiss your loved ones goodbye because you are heading out on a quest like no other. Make your way down to Mount Royal Park for 12:45 PM at the designated meeting point (the gazebo on Parc and Duluth). We will then give you and your partner all you need to get started including a check list of all the items to collect as well as a list of checkpoints where you can win extra points that will all be added to your total. If you want to sign up in person, make sure to come before 12:30pm to the sign up table at Mount Royal Parc. If you’re already signed up, teams can pick up their Treasure Hunt Pack at around 1:00pm, and then the actual hunt will take place from 1:00 – 4:00.

The team with the most points at the end of the designated time period wins! It’s as simple as that. What’s inside the big treasure chest at the end of the road you ask? Well you will have to partake to get in on the goods, but along with some fabulous indie swag (CDs, vinyls, t-shirts, books, stickers and pins) the team with the most points will win a hefty bundle of tickets for this year’s Pop Montreal Festival which will take place from September 29th to October 3rd. That’s right; the winners will receive 2 pairs of tickets for each night of this year’s festival: one early show and one late show every night. Does it get any better than that? All you have to do to see if you’ve won is bring all of your collected loot down to Parc des Amériques for 3:15 and while we tabulate the winner you can listen to some live music put on by none other than Pop Montreal.

It will be a day you won’t forget so be sure to sign your team up now. To sign up all you have to do is send us an email to info@meetyouattheshow.com with your name, your partner’s name and your team name. We will then send you a confirmation email that you are registered for the quest. Just show up the day of the event and you will be one step ahead of everyone that waits to sign up at the start time.

General Info:
-Starting Spot: Mount Royal Parc (At the Gazebo- Parc, corner Duluth) 12:45pm (come before if you want to sign up in person!)
-Ending Spot: Parc Des Ameriques (On St. Laurent, corner Rachel) Hunt ends at 4:00pm, counting of points will start at 4:30pm, and winners announced (estimated) 5:30pm.

The Rules:
- Teams are allowed up to 2 participants.
- Team participants must be together at all times.
- Only 1 copy of items listed allowed to be collected, unless indicated otherwise.
- Contestants may not drive, but are allowed to use public transportation.
- Contestants may not buy any of the items listed.
- Each team must participate in at least 2 checkpoints.
- Teams are not allowed to open the Treasure hunt pack until 1:00 pm, and can only officially start hunting at 1:15pm (when the whistle blows).
SHOULD ANY OF THESE RULES BE BREACHED, TEAMS MAY BE DISQUALIFIED.

Bonus Points:
- Teams are able to receive up to 5 extra points per item for creativity. – Teams are able to receive up to 20 extra points if able to show proof of live twittering/facebooking with updates of their whereabouts during the treasure hunt.

Winners:
- The team with most points gathered by the end of the treasure hunt will win the grand prize. Second and third place prizes will also be awarded.
