In less than a week it will be time for Sappyfest 6 - one of the most happening festivals in the maritimes. For three days art, music and love overtake the quiet college town of Sackville, NB. We're excited to be sending our Pop Off tour their way. Although, if the following letter is any indication, not nearly as excited as they are.

My dearly beloved Pop Montreal,

I love you. I care for you with all my heart. I adore you with all my heart. I have cherished all that you have shared with me; your warm hugs, your loving kisses, the feel of your soft, smooth skin, the gentle touch of your bands.

It seems like only yesterday we were at POP Montreal 2010 dancing together, holding each other close. I remember we couldn’t keep our hands off each other while the sweet sounds of Snailhouse reverberated through  Le Cagibi. 

One week from now we will be together again. This week will feel like two lifetimes. Oh, how I wish I could travel the country with you and your friends Gobble Gobble, Grimes, and Pat Jordache on your Pop Off tour, and how my heart quickens knowing you will be stopping here.

When you arrive in Sackville, we will take long walks in the waterfowl park, and read Keats to each other by the Swan Pond. We will stagger down Bridge Street, laughing and clinging desperately to each other, intoxicated with love, as well as all the Picaroons we will have consumed at Ducky’s. Where we might also share a pickled egg. We will dance under the lamp-lit festival tent to the afro-inflected grooves of Minotaurs. We will swoon together over the peerless Chad Van Gaalen. Our hearts will quiver at the lush arrangements of Owen Pallett et les Mouches.  And oh how we will boogie to the screaming soul of Charles Bradley.All the while I will gaze deeply into your eyes. 

I long to swim in the warm, gentle sea of your love, to be surrounded by it, to be enveloped in it. I long to hold you close and never let you go.
