Satellite Maps

Projet réunissant notamment des membres de Quinimine  et de
Hardsteppers, Satellite Maps a fait un premier « bip » auprès de la
scène musicale montréalaise en janvier 2008. Amalgame d’éléments
électroniques et acoustiques, Satellite Maps abonde dans les mélodies
naïves ponctuant la trame sonore de l’aventure humaine.

Satellite Maps began orbiting the Montreal scene in January 2008. The band is comprised of former members of Quinimine and dub-step luminaries Hardsteppers, as well as -loop queen tUnEyArDs. A finely distilled amalgam of fractured blips and beeps mixed with the flesh, blood and bone of acoustic instruments, singin’ and strummin’. Within the balance, lie the naïve melodies that attempt to soundtrack the human condition.

Silly Kissers

Silly Kissers se sont tout d’abord embrassé en 2007. C’était tout
simplement magique ! Si vous aimez vous envoyez en l’air avec le
sourire, vous adorerez ce groupe et ses mélodies hypnotisantes, son
énergie contagieuse et ses chansons « catchy ». Du gros fun nouère !

All the songs are about love. Silly Kissers started kissing in the fall of 2007. It was a magical time of loveliness and hope - no dope. If you like happy sex - you might like this band! The mesmerizing melodies, syncopated synergy and hypnotic hooks make this band what they are - tons of fun!

Jane Vain & The Dark Matter

Une centaine de concerts après le lancement de son excellent album Love
Is Where The Smoke Is, Jamie Fooks, l’auteure-compositrice interprète
derrière le groupe Jane Vain & The Dark Matter, fait ses valises,
quitte Calgary pour déménager à Montréal en plus de remplacer ses
mélodies de claviers planantes par des rugissements de guitare
aigres-doux. Un chaos organisé, quoi.

One hundred shows after her well-received Rectangle Records release "Love Is Where The Smoke Is," Jamie Fooks, the singer and songwriter behind Jane Vain & The Dark Matter, packed up and moved from Calgary to Montreal. Aggressive, reverb-soaked guitar lines replace bubbling keyboards to create an anxious chaos that noisily arrives at a careful sort of clarity.

Tanlines 

Tanlines est formé de Jesse Cohen et D’Eric Emm. Le projet s’est formé
en 2008 et s’est fait remarquer pour un remix d’une pièce de Telepathe.
Ils considèrent leur musique comme « de la pop expérimentale » ou
encore « de la musique du monde importée d’un pays qui n’existe pas ».

Tanlines are Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm. Tanlines first emerged in 2008, getting some attention for their first track, a playful, synth-led remix of Telepathe's 'Chrome’s On It'. They describe their music as either ‘experimental pop’ or ‘world music from a country that doesn’t actually exist’.
