R. STEVIE MOORE
Outsider pop artist R. Stevie Moore has made two or three albums every year since 1967- about 400 recordings in total- establishing himself as one of the most abundant and idiosyncratic pop musicians of all time.
NATASHA PICKOWICZ
San Diego-born writer Pickowicz has curated avant garde and noise music concerts as Popcorn Youth since 2006. She also runs the food blog Popcorn Plays, and is the baker at Dépanneur Le Pick Up.
THE RAINCOATS
Ana da Silva and Gina Birch formed the British post-punk group The Raincoats in 1977 while they were students at Hornsey College of Art, London, England. They have exerted a major influence on such diverse artists as Kury Cobain and Sonic Youth.

Gary Lucas is a world class guitar hero, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and composer, an international recording artist with over 20 acclaimed solo albums to date, and a soundtrack composer for film and television.
CHLOE LUM
Armchair Beefheart scholar Chloe Lum is the vocalist and lyricist of the formalist/unknown wave trio, AIDS Wolf as well as half of the visual art duo Seripop. She has performed , exhibited and lectured internationally.

CHRIS BURNS
Montreal musician Chris Burns has been playing in bands since he was 15. Among his current projects, he plays guitar and sings for Nutsak, guitar with The Ratchet Orchestra and the Burns/Caloia/ Heward Trio, and drums for David & the Woods.

Daniel Levitin`s multi-faceted career has included work as a musician, producer, scientist, and best-selling writer. His books include This is Your Brain on Music and The World in Six Songs.
IRA PADNOS aka DR. IKE
Dr. Ike's life-long devotion to the culture of New Orleans created The Ponderosa Stomp, which ultimately became an annual festival celebrating the unsung heroes of rock-and-roll.
BOBBY ALLEN
Born in 1943 in Crowley, La., Bobby Allen was bound to be inspired by the swampy Spanish creole of his surroundings. Backed by his band the Exceptions, Allen created a funk masterpiece in the 1970's with "Soul Chicken".
LIL' BUCK SINEGAL
"The Master of the Stratocaster", Lil' Buck Sinegal has lived a lifetime of Louisiana-style rock and R&B.
HISHAM MAYET
Hisham Mayet was born on the Barbary Coast of North Africa. He is co-founder and co-owner of the Sublime Frequencies label, where he has realized numerous documentary films and music recordings.
JOE BATAAN
No recording artist has more impeccable street credentials than Joe Bataan, the originator of the New York Latin Soul style.
FRANK ‘DIGGZ’ RODRIGUEZ
Frank Rodriguez, (a.k.a. Frank Diggz) is the founder of the Afro-Latin Soul music series, where he seeks to build bridges between communities by shedding light on the universality of his Afro-Puerto-Rican/Mexican heritage.
MERRILL GARBUS
New England native Merrill Garbus is well known from her tUnE-yArDs project. When performing live, Garbus creates drum loops on the spot, and layers these with ukulele, voice, and electric bass.
DREW NELLES
Montreal-based writer Drew Nelles is editor-in-chief of Maisonneuve Magazine. He's written for Reader’s Digest, This Magazine, the Montreal Mirror, and Canadian Dimension and sings and plays bass in Wind-Up People.
BABUKISHAN DAS BAUL
Master of Indian Classical, Baul, and Indian Cinema Music, Babukishan Das Baul has been performing in India and throughout the world for 40 years.
WILL EIZLINI
Tabla player/composer Will Eizlini is well known from his work with Shalabi Effect, as well as for his film music for such projects as Hyperhelion and Follow Your Heart to Jerusalem.
SEYMOUR STEIN
Seymour Stein is an entrepreneur in the music industry who has been a part of the business since getting his first job as a clerk for Billboard magazine in 1958. Stein is a vice president of Warner Bros. Records and a co-founder of Sire Records.
BLAIR PACKHAM
Acquiring a varied skill set has never frightened Blair Packham. A singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, producer, engineer, writer, broadcaster and educator, each of Blair’s life and work experiences inform the others, and he has many stories to share.
WILL STRAW
Will Straw is member of the Department of Art History and Communications at McGill University. He is the author of over 60 articles on film music, media and cultural studies.
AMY MACDONALD
Amy is an MA candidate in Communication Studies at McGill University. Her thesis research focuses on festivals, artistic and cultural production, and their effect on our understandings of cities.
CAROLINE ANDRIEUX
Caroline Andrieux is founder and artistic director of the cultural association Quartier Éphémère and Artistic Director of the Darling Foundry in Montreal. She is at the heart of the creation of several other anti-conformist centers notably the Hôpital Éphémère and the Usine Éphémère in Paris, and has organized various exhibitions and major events in Montreal and in France. In 2002, she received the rank of Chevalière des arts et des lettres from the French government.
ALEX COWAN
Alex Cowan is one of the founders of the now-defunct Montreal loft space Lab Synthèse, and is currently involved with renowned label Arbutus Records. He also plays dreamy electro-pop in the group Blue Hawaii
CATHERINE LALONDE
Catherine Lalonde M. is currently finishing her Masters degree at l’Université du Québec à Montréal, focusing on the infiltration of arts in the urban space. In 2003, she took part in the launch of the Touski work co-op, and has worked with the Farine orpheline cherche ailleurs meilleur collective form 2006 to 2008. In 2006, she founded Péristyle Nomade, an artistic company based on new artistic practices. Since then, she is in charge of the company's artistic direction et pursues her personal exploration and creation of nano-performances.
TINA PIPER
Tina Piper is an Assistant Professor of Law at McGill University. Her research investigates why people create and innovate in science and the arts and the role laws and norms play in this process. Among her recent work is a study of independent music labels in Montreal. She is also on the Board of Directors of POP Montreal.
PETER BURTON
Peter Burton is the executive director of the Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival in Montreal. He has also been involved with COLLE (la Coalition pour la libre expression) as well as Le Regroupement, a group created to support independent multidisciplinary events in Montreal.
PATTI SCHMIDT
Patti Schmidt began her radio career with CKUT before joining CBC Radio 2 in 1991 as a researcher and fill-in host for Brave New Waves, a national, nightly, new music program. By 1995, she was the host and later, executive producer of the program until it ended in 2007. She has also hosted the Montreal- based arts and culture program, Cinq à Six as well as Canada Live. In 2010 she completed a graduate degree in Art History and Communication Studies at McGill. She currently also works as a curator, web editor and producer for Montreal’s MUTEK festival.
CHARITY CHAN
Charity is an active performer, improviser and author. Performing on piano and accordion, she has given concerts, lectures and workshops on improvised music in North and South America. Upcoming performances in 2011-12 include concerts and tours in Europe, New Zealand, Iceland and Australia. Her music can be heard on Tzadik, Ambiances Magnétiques and Innova Records.

Director of operations at Scène 1425, where he's also programmer, coordinator, designer, administrator, sponsor-seeker, idea-generator, and dude wanting to bring good music to Laval.
ANDRÉ GUÉRETTE
Andre Guerette has worked as a promoter and artists manager for many years, with Blue Skies Turn Black and now with OPAK media, managing artists mainly in music, but also in film and television.
FRANNIE HOLDER
Although Random Recipe has only been touring for the last 2 years, the 250 shows they have given in this short period of time has given singer and guitalélé player Frannie Holder great knowledge about different networks and touring infrastructures in Quebec and elsewhere. Frannie has dealt with countless bands from all over the world, allowing her to experience touring from another perspective.

Céline Thibault is responsible for projects in SODEC's music division. She is a vital and indipensable resource in Quebec's professional scene..
JEFFREY REMEDIOS
Former Virgin Records executive Jeffrey Remedios launched Arts & Crafts in 2002 with the release of Broken Social Scene's album You Forgot It In People. Arts & Crafts is now home to more than 20 artists and has released over 50 albums.

Mark Kates is credited with a significant role in the development of alternative radio. He has worked with WRGW, Big Time Records, Love and Rockets, Geffen Records, Grand Royal Records, and Fenway Recordings.
SEBASTIAN COWAN
Sebastian Cowan has made a name for himself as the co-founder of the former loft venue Lab Synthèse, co-founder of Beaubien Magazine and the man behind Arbutus Records. He's worked with Silly Kissers, Blue Hawaai, and Grimes.

Matt Drouin has worked with Metric and Equator Records, among many others.
PETER WARK
Peter Wark currently works with Joseph Arthur of Wark DKD Management in Montreal, whose current client base includes Fistful of Mercy and Rickie Lee Jones.

Vincent is the director of the Lyon-based Nuits Sonores Festival and operates the Arty Farty association which operates the festival.

Russell Ziecker's career as a music publisher and President/COO has taken him to the top of some of the biggest outfits in the music business, including Milan Records/BMG and FUZZ Music + Sound Design. He is currently head of Television Music/Artist & Repertoire at Lionsgate Music + Publishing.

Based in Ottawa, Jon Bartlett runs the 17-yr old label Kelp Records, and just last year launched MEGAPHONO, a new one-stop music synch licensing and composing shop.

Andrea von Foerster has done music supervision for film, television and online projects for the last twelve years for such films such as (500) Days Of Summer, and TV shows as The O.C., Grey’s Anatomy and Dollhouse.

Michael Hill supervises the music for HBO's Bored To Death and Showtime's Nurse Jackie. He also worked on Todd Solondz's forthcoming Dark Horse and John Cameron Mitchell's acclaimed Shortbus

Luigi Allemano is an animation filmmaker, musician, composer and sound designer based in Montreal. His work has appeared in Oscar-nominated animation films, television series, Juno Award-winning recordings, jingles and soundtracks.

Lysandra Woods works in Music Licensing for Film and TV at Third Side Music in Montreal. She feels lucky to have found a job where it pays to be a bit of a film nerd and music geek.

Dr. E. Michael Harrington is Associate Professor of Music Management at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. He is formerly Professor of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and has served as an expert witness in numerous high-profile music copyright cases.

Claire Boucher's Grimes project is weird pop influenced by styles such as R&B, Industrial, goth, hip hop and Western medieval organum.
TIM HECKER
Montreal producer Tim Hecker made his initial breakthrough as Jetone, following with ambient music under his own name on Alien8 sublabel Substractif and also releasing work on Mille Plateaux and Staalplaat.
