Owl Kids presents: Learn to Speak Music
Join Broken Social Scene member and author John Crossingham, illustrator Jeff Kulak, and Tokyo Police Club producer John Drew for an afternoon of musical mini-workshops for young musicians and music lovers. Explore the basics of songwriting with John! Get tips on how to design your own gig posters and album covers from Jeff. Then give it a try and learn all about how to manipulate sounds from John Drew. Plus ask all the questions you want about any aspect of the music business — from starting a band to life on the road these guys have experienced it all.

Open to all musicians ages 9 - 14. Previous music experience not required.

Tie Dye Workshop
Fabric Artist Katie Jung will lead participants in a Bucket Tie-dye workshop.  The workshop will lead the participants through all steps of tie-dying, from mixing non-toxic safe dies in buckets, to showing a variety of fold variations, and string and rubber band method tie-dying.

Super-hero masks with Dana Drori
This workshop will help participants access their Superhero Alter-Ego and give them the supplies to make their very own Superhero Masks. Participants will be lead in a set of interactive activities that help them find their secret super-power, and make a mask of for their new Alter-Ego. 

4 Oct. 15h00 - 16h30   Guitar Decorating Decoration
Artist and Videographer Tracy Maurice will lead participants in a Paper-Guitar Decorating session - we’ll have Paper Guitars on hand, and heaps of purple supplies to let participants get as imaginative as they can (glitter, markers, feathers, pompoms, and more) and decorate their paper guitar into their own rock dream!
