Art POP/Symposium: DIY/DIT

Art-POPSymposium-DIYDIT

A moderated panel conversation based around the creative potential of DIY, DIT (do-it-together) and interactive approaches to creative practices. As the potential for self-distribution and DIY production of creative media increase at an exponential rate, the cultural, political and aesthetic significance of the decision to challenge expectation by pursuing these approaches to creativity take on new and exciting values.
Featuring local, and international figures—which will include DIY performance artists, lucky dragons, as well as Brooklyn-based promoter Edan Wilber (runs Death by Audio) and Joe Ahearn (Curator of Performance and Installation at Clocktower/Director of Showpaper/Curator at Silent Barn)—this conversation will both address the most vital thematic and cultural issues, tensions, questions and ideas, while also acting as an opportunity to share valuable practical, aesthetic, ethical and logistical potentials, approaches and solutions.
