From shows to pop-up experimental afterhours, things happen at night in Montreal. How can the temporal space of the night be more effectively transformed into a legitimate artistic and cultural sphere? As communities work towards the development of cultural neighborhoods in Montreal, participants consider the ways night generates its own forms of innovation, cultural expression and conflict.

Simon Brault is President of Culture Montreal and VP of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Dr. Will Straw is a Professor in Art History and Communications at McGill University.

Former member of Lesbians on Ecstasy Bernie Houde co-owns Little Italy institutions Dépanneur Le Pick-Up and Alexandraplatz.

Laurent Saulnier is VP of Programming and Production for Nuit Blanche Montréal.

Patricia Boushel is a music manager, a cultural producer and activist from Montreal. She is the editor of Translating the Printemps Érable and offers free French classes in her kitchen.
