Pop Montreal International Music Festival and partners the McGill University Schulich School of Music and the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy (CIPP) in affiliation with the Future of Music Coalition (FMC)
The Event
Pop and Policy: Music Fast Forward 2007will bring together exceptional panelists, high profile keynote speakers and an engaged and diverse audience to form what promises to become the critical platform for discussing Canadian music policy at the nexus of law, technology and business.
Pop and Policy will afford a unique opportunity for exposure in the Pop Montreal International Music Festival, which has become one of North America's most vibrant cultural events; a multidisciplinary music, art and film festival featuring more than 400 artists and 40,000 attendees annually. Housed in one of North America's oldest and most prestigious music schools, McGill University's Schulich School of Music provides the perfect setting for conference networking and on-site sponsorship visibility opportunities. Partnership with McGill's Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and affiliation with the Future of Music Coalition all ensure that Pop and Policy will be positioned as one of the most current and relevant conferences in determining the future of Canadian music and music policy.
Through responsive, interactive programming and a focus on results, Pop and Policysets itself apart as an event that actively strives to create a meaningful experience for conference delegates, participants, and public alike.
Programming Highlights
Sponsorship at Pop and Policy will not only place you at the forefront of the discussion of music policy and technology, it will also provide the unique opportunity to be associated with high-profile conference delegates including acclaimed neuroscientist, author, and producer Daniel Levitin¸ legendary producer Sandy Pearlman, and punk rock's poet laureate Patti Smith. Representatives from the three major Canadian political parties, major music unions, and other prominent Canadian artists such as Buck 65, members of The Dears are all included in the roster of speakers and invited guests.
Pop and Policy will bring together the best and brightest from the legal, academic, business, technology, and music communities to dialogue and exchange diverse points of view.
Demographics - Reach your target Market
Pop and Policy's demographics extend from legal, technology and business professionals; to representatives from the music industry and fans. This is an exceptional opportunity to straddle polarized demographics; vibrant and youthful trendsetters rubbing shoulders with a core business clientele; artists debating policy makers; hip cats alongside of legal beagles.
Last year's conference saw over 550 participants coming from more than 10 countries, with backgrounds covering 20 disciplines including law, the high tech sector, government agencies, academia, and musicians.
You'll be able to tap into these communities who all share the same enthusiasm for technology, a respect for arts, and a belief in the value of informed discussion to inspire positive change.
Ongoing Visibility Opportunities
Pop and Policy offers you outstanding on-site visibility, and benefits that will extend far beyond. Direct presence at the conference will mean exposure to more than 1,000 attendees. The following outreach and dissemination will ensure ongoing, high-volume visibility for sponsors;
- Web and pod casts of conference keynotes and select panels streamed year-round will provide visibility
- CIPP Mailing Group of more than 1,500 targeted professionals will provide key marketing and outreach opportunities through dissemination of conference information
- Special Artist Showcases after the conference featuring artists like Patti Smith and Buck 65 will provide excellent high-profile networking opportunities
