Staff Benda Bilili is the inspiring story of paraplegic street musicians from Congo, who got around on handmade custom bicycles and makeshift wheel chairs.

The group started out playing in the streets and the zoo of Kinshasa, but what revealed them to the world is the release of the French documentary “Benda Bilili” (See trailer here). The documentary, which premiered at the prestigious “Director’s Fortnight” event at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, received rave reviews from critics and successfully introduced their amazing music to the world. For their visit to Montreal this month, we will be adapting the historic Rialto Theatre with ramps and others devices in order to accommodate the musicians and make this show one crazy party for everybody!!
