Moor Mother a.k.a. Camae Ayewa, is a rapper, producer, activist, and thinker from Philadelphia who has been recording and releasing music under her solo project since 2012 in a style that she describes as “project-housing bop,” “slaveship punk,” and “blk girl blues.”. Since her 2016 breakthrough studio album Fetish Bones (Don Giovanni Records), Ayewa has been a force to be reckoned with in independent music, finding widespread critical acclaim in established outlets such as The Wire, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork. In 2018, Ayewa was invited as a guest lecturer at the Berlin edition of Red Bull Music Academy, and was guest curator of Le Guess Who Festival. Ayewa continues to push the boundaries through her recent collaborations with Rasheedah Phillips with the Afro-Futurist Affair, and the new insurrectionary jazz outfit, Irreversible Entanglements. TiKA is an artist, DJ, creator, cultural producer, TV/Online personality, activist, and advocate for the empowerment of female artists and creators.
