Art POP and La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines are excited to bring together FlucT, the New York based duo formed by Monica Mirabile and Sigrid Lauren, and Mich Cota for an electrifying evening of performance, dance and movement. In their newest work, FlucT sits in the unprocessed information of what feels like the inescapable omnipotence of the corporate coup d’etat. Moving toward a flip, control and lack of control places movement on power while they use the weight of each other. In poetic dissonance and abstract narration by the media that affects our behavior, an original soundscape sounds 'Everythingmakesmehappy.’ Mich’s performance will incorporate rope and string, creating use tension, song and dance to explore form and identity. Using these visual codes, her work tackles boundaries and access while she sings and navigates the Rialto space.
FlucT is the collaborative work of two artists, Monica Mirabile and Sigrid Lauren, addressing issues in the capital obedience of American culture through choreography and performance. They create original narrative soundscapes linking a manipulated pop music psychosis with violently intimate dance.
Mich is a two-spirit woman. She sings in English and Algonquin, her native language. Mich uses her exposed body to state where she was, is, and will be. She often enjoys deconstructing her physical form into light, copulating with nature, and turning into a nocturnal creature of revelry.
