When I started working as a programmer for MIDI Festival, I think one of the main mottos was that we wouldn't play anything we weren't absolutely passionate about.
Lots of the bands we put on were playing their first French shows or even sometimes debut European shows and it's always been very rewarding working with a band from the very start and seeing them grow.
I'd say the philosophy is quite similar at The Talent Boutique. The main policy here is not to try signing each and every one of the new bands of the day. It's much more about trying to develop a roster with a strong identity and only collaborating with artists that you're obsessed with and that you feel you'll be able to stick with as they grow, building a real constructive and artistically enriching relationship.
