Why run a label? At the beginning, you have the music, a band, a rough plan. Sometimes you don't know each other too well yet, you are a bit reserved. But the music connects you. And it is a shared vision, that leads from an idea to something very sturdy, a physical or digital album, a carreer, success.
It's all about this certain tension to create something from scratch, to change things, to get to know each other and broaden your horizon. Running a label means staying young and being a significant part of a movement. And then there's this one moment when you feel that things start to work. At a show. Or you are in the car and hear your music on the radio. It's that moment, when your idea turns into something bigger. Things come together and everything is in it's right place.
Sinnbus is a Berlin based label and publisher focusing on fine electronica, post rock, indie and noise. The label started around 2003 as a collaboration of musicians, artists and friends and has become home of bands like Hundreds, Bodi Bill, Me And My Drummer, Asbjørn The/Das, We Are The City or Einar Stray Orchestra. Over the years Sinnbus developed from representing a local niche to an internationally working label and publisher with artists from all over Europe.
