Ms. Charm Taylor is as vibrant as her hometown of New Orleans, LA, and self describes herself as a soul stirring universe whisperer. Her future soul beats are spiritually soothing and it's hard to stop listening to her hypnotizing voice once you've heard it. POP was lucky enough to cross paths with her while across the Atlantic at Focus Wales! We exchanged a few words and snaps.
POP: Can you tell us a few words about the story behind your song 'Mother of Nine'?
MCT: Mother of Nine was inspired by the goddess Oya. She embodies the essence of change and transformation. To capture the whirling sounds, I played a broken Wurlitzer organ in the studio. We wanted the production to mimic the feeling of entering a future world.
POP: You had your solo debut in 2015, and in that short period of time have done a lot of touring. How has your reception and experience in Wales been?
MCT: My experience in Wales was more "homecoming" than stranger or foreigner. Everyone was so welcoming and receptive to my wave!
POP: You were turning heads all over Wrexham when we met you. Can you tell us a bit more about your style and what inspires you when you're getting ready?
MCT: My style is often an expression of exactly how I feel on the inside. I love luminosity and color so I prefer patterns and shiny fabrics and tings!
