How has this past year been for you in terms of attention since the release of Yo (I'm Lit)? Great video by the way. Can you tell us about the shooting process and who all the people making appearances are?
Well, Yo (I'm Lit) actually got released a year ago on Main Course records but since so many awesome people were noticing the song we decided to still go ahead and shoot a video for it. Saint and I really didn't expect the song to get noticed by Diplo and Skrillex but we're really thankful. We didn't have a budget for the video so we had to get creative. I was in L.A. for a show so Saint and I took the opportunity to hit up friends and get lit with them and film for the video. Appearances by Dj Sliink, Valentino Khan, G-Buck and the late Big Makk… Rest in peace Makk < 3
What were your major influences growing up? How do you feel New Jersey shaped you?
My major influences growing up were just being a creative kid. I was always involved in some performing arts program, whether it was ballet classes or piano lessons music is something that's been in my life since a child. New Jersey's party scene really helped me to find myself a bit. I wasn't really into the kids at my high school. Most of my friends were made at the local parties. The kids seemed to be lil weirdos like me, so I was able to be myself and embrace it.
What's next in the Jersey Club world, or UNiiQU3 for that matter?
What's next for Jersey Club... I think it's only going to get better and evolve as the kids that make it evolve. It's still fairly new to the world. I've been many places this year where people never heard of Jersey Club and I'm their first dose of it, which is cool. As for me. UNIIQU3 is getting ready to introduce the world to her realm. I really grew as a musician this year and I can't wait to see how people react to what I'm going to do. The game is kinda stale and I'm the air freshener.
What can we expect to feel during your performance at POP?
Expect to feel good after my performance. I have new material I can play as well. High energy, don't be timid on the floor either. It's going to be a fun experience.
