Art POP is inviting artists and curators to submit their project proposals and exhibitions to be considered for the official programming of the next edition of Art POP.
Art POP is the component of POP Montreal festival dedicated to the visual and media arts. Taking place over five days from September 13-17, 2017, the next edition of Art POP will present a varied programming including exhibitions, conferences, performances, workshops and community collaborations.
We are currently seeking well-developed exhibition concepts from up-and-coming curators OR innovative emerging artists whose work opens the dialogue between the worlds of music and popular culture.
It's free to apply! You simply need to submit a proposal that meets the requirements detailed below. Please include the following information with your proposal:
- CV of the artist or curator
- Proposal - Artists: artist statement and project description (750 words max.) OR Curators: project description, list of participants and short bio of each artist
- Technical specifications and equipment required for the exhibition
- Visual Support: 10-20 photos of the works as .jpgs (approx 768 x 1024 pixels), links to any video projects, and details of the works (title, technique, size, year)
All participants will receive an Art POP "artist" bracelet giving them access to all POP Montreal events during the five days of the festival, including concerts.
Please note that all projects are subject to budgetary restrictions, which vary according to the nature and demands of the project. You will need to be present during installation (September 11 and 12) and teardown (September 18) of the exhibition.
