A cover story is a term with multiple meanings. It refers both to the headlining stories of the ever accelerating news cycles, as well as the smokescreen narratives employed in order to obfuscate the truth. Cover Story, this year’s Art POP group exhibition, will position the artist as an interrogative or investigative body that seeks to uncover lies, debunk cultural myths, and expose half truths.
Visitors to the Studio Rialto space will interact with research made visible, historical reenactments, and illusory installations attempting to demonstrate the internal processes behind artistic truth telling. Cover Story will bring together the multiplicity of narratives necessary to approach Truth, suggesting it is a manifold and often contradictory concept composed of slippages and blind spots.
Open to the public, vaccination passport required upon arrival.
