Film POP Releases its 2020 Lineup

Film POP releases its highly anticipated 2020 lineup, featuring a diverse selection of documentaries and fictions around the theme of music.

For POP’s 2020 hybrid edition, Film POP is back with an incredible lineup of films taking place at Mile End favourite, Cinéma Moderne. With safety at heart, these intimate showings are sure to shock, educate, and inspire. Offerings include career-spanning portraits of indispensable artists such as Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Haruomi Hosono and Throbbing Gristle. This year Film POP is thrilled to continue working with the Phi Foundation for Contemporary Art and to welcome Vidéographe as their latest curatorial partner on a shorts program. In these strange and uncertain times, Film POP’s 2020 program also includes two pre-Covid city symphonies: Lisbon Beat and Montreal’s own The POP Movie with a hopeful look to a future where we have our vibrant music scene back.

Film POP will also be having a secondary showing of the POP Movie on the Rialto roof.

Not to be missed: What better way to live out the end of days than watching a documentary about the post-societal, weed-induced existence of a pack of SoundCloud rappers in the Colorado desert? Check out Crestone, playing September 27th at Cinéma Moderne.
