Frede studio
Frede Studio is a small Montreal metal workshop born in 2023. The duo consists of Frédérique, a jeweler trained at the École des métiers du Sud-Ouest de Montréal, and Vincent, an industrial designer graduate from Université Laval and now a technological application technician for the new design program at ETS. This mix of backgrounds helps push the boundaries of the workshop by exploring the dialogue between old jewelry techniques and new technologies, between traditional know-how and contemporary innovations. The particularity of their approach also lies in the use of stones: rather than being set, they are fused with the metal from the casting, creating an organic harmony between raw material and colored bursts. The use of this technique as well as lost wax means that almost all their pieces are unique. For them, each new collection is an opportunity to explore new territory, whether through jewelry designed as portable sculptures or decorative objects that extend the jewelry universe into the home and everyday life.
