Montreal, Quebec

17sport is a Montreal based duo composed of Iris Lou Dune and Del Renee Vise, both bilingual (French and English) artists who met and formed the band in 2024. The pair plays both roles of musicians and producers equally in the band, using Garageband to create. Distortion and sound transformation are the main elements of their process. They layer soaring vocals with jagged synths and visceral bass while building a world with themes of uncertainty, hope and the pursuit of freedom. Listening to 17sport is like walking on a tightrope of choosing between love and hate, using rage to construct a better self. Their sound is reminiscent of Katie Jane Garside, Burial and Bassvictim, belonging to a DIY and experimental electronic scene. Their performance on stage can be described as a mix of Smerz, Crystal Castles and YHWH Nailgun. Iris and Del write, direct and edit their own music videos and conceptualize their artistic direction themselves. They are gearing up to release a second album Halfout/Dreama, with singles like Kill and A Bullet Through Glue already being out. The project is noisier, angrier and messier than anything they’ve ever done. It is characterized by incessant omnipresent 808 bass, trumpets, military rolls, hopeful synths and chaotic shouts.
