Ahren Strange, a songwriter based in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), is definitely not normal. Influenced by Canadian indie rockers like Chad VanGaalen, Andy Shauf, and more well known artists like Joni Mitchell, Nirvana, and Big Thief, Strange transmutes a plethora of musical influences into their own brand of Indie Rock—at once whimsical and serious—that blurs the lines between folk and grunge. Performing as a four piece band, Ahren Strange brings a tight and energetic show. Their 2024 EP Everlow, written to the rush of endless highway traffic, is a contemplation on stasis, sinking in, and letting go. Their first full length album, Heliophobia, hits digital shelves in Fall 2026.
