atelierDNHN

Montreal, Quebec

atelier DNHN has been creating and making products since September 2019 from second-hand clothing, fabric scraps and fabric end-of-series. The recycled materials are used to design clothing, caps and hats, as well as a diverse range of accessories. These are unique, gender-neutral pieces inspired by work uniforms, sportswear and military aesthetics. Our production is ethical, environmentally friendly and carefully crafted entirely in Montréal.

Our craftsmanship is not only reflected in the recycling of an industrial textile past, but also combines timeless influences with handmade and traditional craftsmanship.

The brand name – denhien – is inspired by the denier, a unit of measurement used in textiles to weigh yarn. The idea of unity and thread is reflected in our design. We focus on one-off pieces that follow the same thread: giving new life to existing garments by creatively reworking them to leave our mark. The acronym for denhien – DNHN – stands for our company values: Diversity – Nuance – Human – Native.
