atelierDNHN
Atelier DNHN is above all a tribute to local craftsmanship. Since September 2019, each piece has been imagined, created and made in Montreal using second-hand clothing, retailers and end-of-line fabrics. Recovered materials are transformed into clothing, caps, hats and various accessories, all unique and genderless, inspired by work uniforms, sports and military aesthetics. Our production is anchored in ethical and ecological practices, and each creation is made with the greatest care, in our Montreal workshop.
More than recycling textiles, our craftsmanship revisits an industrial past to mix it with timeless influences and handmade know-how.
The name denhien refers to the denier, a unit of measurement for textiles, symbolizing unity and the thread on which each creation is based. Each piece follows this common thread: enhancing existing clothing by transforming them with creativity to breathe new life into them and leave our mark on them.
The acronym DNHN embodies the values of our workshop: Diversity, Nuances, Human, Native.
