atelierDNHN
Atelier DNHN is above all a tribute to local craftsmanship. Since September 2019, each piece is imagined, created, and made in Montreal from second-hand clothing, scraps, and end-of-series fabrics. The recovered materials are transformed into clothing, caps, hats, and various accessories, all unique and genderless, inspired by work uniforms, sporty and military aesthetics. Our production is anchored in ethical and ecological practices, and each creation is made with the greatest care, in our Montreal workshop.
More than textile recycling, our craftsmanship revisits an industrial past to blend it with timeless influences and handmade know-how.
The name denhien refers to the denier, a unit of measurement for textiles, symbolizing unity and the thread that connects each creation. Each piece follows this common thread: valuing existing clothes by transforming them creatively to give them a new life and imprint our mark on them.
The acronym DNHN embodies the values of our workshop: Diversity, Nuances, Human, Native.
