Puces POP
Catherine De Abreu, artiste céramiste
My artistic journey began with a love for printmaking techniques explored during my undergraduate degree at Concordia University in 2004. During this period, the works created highlighted an engaged visual language that addressed my concerns at the time. Later, in 2008, I had the opportunity to explore the medium of ceramics and I immediately fell in love with it. It is with great enthusiasm that I deepened my knowledge of the material with infinite possibilities by following the three-year training at the Bonsecours Ceramic Center. Since that time, I have been a full-time ceramic artist who offers table art creations made with care and rigor on a human scale. For several years I have been using graphic elements such as transfers to highlight ideas or emotions within me. The pieces presented at Puces Pop will be faithful to my visual universe which can sometimes be sober, sometimes colorful.
