Clay Hazey

Clay Hazey makes country music for city mice. Blending witty, heartfelt lyrics with broken vocals and hooky melodies, he takes what he wants from country and western and fills in the blanks as he pleases. Backed by a band of Montreal heavy hitters, his live show spans from wistful barroom waltzes to anthemic, sing-along folk-rock choruses.

Hazey’s debut EP charted on college radio in BC and Toronto, earned heavy rotation on SiriusXM’s NorthAmericana, and landed him festival spots at NXNE, Festival sur le Canal, and the Mariposa Folk Fest showcase. He was also named one of Exclaim’s “Emerging Artists You Need to See.” Clay’s 2025 releases are his most personal to date, combining his signature dark humour and Canadiana honesty while exploring themes of addiction, self-acceptance, and the diminishing returns of romanticism.
