Hanorah
Hanorah is known for her powerful, emotive voice. Blending soul, folk, and shoegaze, she crafts a sound that is both raw and refined. Her latest EP, Closer Than Hell, explores the tension between desire and uncertainty through vulnerable and intense songwriting. The project has been featured on CBC Music, Q with Tom Power, The Block with Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe, as well as on Earmilk.
Her debut EP, For The Good Guys And The Bad Guys (2019), has garnered over a million streams and won multiple awards, launching a career that has taken her across Canada, the US, and the UK. Her first full-length album, Perennial (2022), released via Ensoul Records, was named an “Editor’s Pick” by Exclaim! and received national radio play across Canada.
In 2023, she closed the Montreal International Jazz Festival alongside The Brooks in front of 40,000 people and in 2025, she returned to the festival’s main stage to perform her own headline set for, opening for PJ Morton. Over the years, Hanorah has shared the stage with artists such as Mavis Staples, Coeur de Pirate, Alex Warren, and Seratones, and performed at SXSW, Focus Wales, and Liverpool Soundcity.
Today, she continues to explore new creative territory between music and visual arts, driven by a constant urge to create and reinvent.
