Isabelle Huot Ceramix
My ceramics are inspired by nature; from the germ to the flower, from the shell, to the pearl. I throw, shape, and cast porcelain to produce pieces that adorn your daily life while being functional.
I play with the illusion of fragility by thinning the lips of my works and leaving the body of the piece a good thickness to maintain its strength. I combine function with its content by creating visual links with nature. For example; I leave the imprint of an organic or geometric object in the bottom of a bowl by thus shaping the foot. Finally, I make links through the shape of containers reminiscent of: tulip, calla, shell, mushroom.
