Jeremy Lachance

Saint-Hugues, QC

Jeremy Lachance’s indie-rock songs have a charm, a je-ne-sais-quoi that’s purely Montreal. With the ingenuity of a flâneur and the know-how of a craftsman, the artist constructs a music that nestles naturally between Mile End’s suspended afternoons.

Jeremy knows how to put on his white gloves when writing, composing or producing for others (Miel de Montagne, Laraw, Kieran Campbell). But when it comes to his own work, he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. What emerges are hushed textures whose seams cannot be hidden: soft, soothing, but deliberately full of imperfections. Best known as a member of the indie band Grand Eugène, Jeremy Lachance now reveals himself as a singer-songwriter with his debut EP Béton Bisous: six homemade songs under the Van Horne overpass.
