Julia de Castro
Founder of DE LA PURÍSSIMA, a stage project that toured the world for a decade until its theatrical death directed by Julia herself with 70 musicians and for which she was nominated as best actress for the prestigious Valle Inclán Awards. She has released two albums and written a book on prostitution, La Retorica Delle Puttane, published by the editorial La Fábrica. Since September 2021 she has collaborated on Radio 3 with her own section inside the program “Que parezca un accidente” where she talks about classic cars and cinema. She boasts of her Avila origins that, without being glamorous, provide her with the mysticism, determination and seriousness of the Saints who inhabited the same walls. A key figure in Spanish culture portrayed by Óscar Tusquets in a painting displayed in the Can Framis Catalan Art Museum, which led to the creation of the film ANATOMÍA DE UNA CRIMINAL in 2015 with Javier Giner, a piece that accumulates awards in Film Festivals. It doesn’t matter which expression she chooses; music, literature, theatre or cinema, everything that comes from Julia has an interest, especially if it has to do with sex and the female body.
