La Chouchouterie MTL

My name is Ariane and I started La Chouchouterie MTL in 2021 during the pandemic. I worked as a nurse when I started and I still work as a nurse, but I always had a creative side that I was looking to tap into. I’ve loved sewing since I was young, so I decided to start doing it again by making hair scrunchies. I brought them to my work to my nursing colleagues to give away and that’s when one of my colleagues gave me the idea of starting a small business to sell them. I started selling them to people around me, then on Instagram. Subsequently, I created my online store and started participating in markets to share my creations. After the hair scrunchies, I started making other hair products (scrunchies and mini-scrunchies for children). Finally, when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I also decided to start making some baby products, including pacifier clips. In short, what started as a simple hobby has become bigger than I thought by participating in bigger and bigger events up to the National Women’s Show this year.
