Line St Jean art design
Multidisciplinary artist, native of Montreal, I studied arts at Cégep du Vieux Montreal. Decoration consultant but for more than 15 years I dedicate my work to painting, textile printing and recycling. My artistic approach is inspired by traces of the past and modern aestheticism. I like to offer art in small formats which lend themselves well to it. Characters, landscapes, abstractions… for the occasion, I paint in used wooden salad bowls. The everyday object takes on its full essence and beauty in the choice of materials and patterns. Textile prints are made manually with blocks that I create or with chosen plants. Recycled fabrics may have been redyed and for some objects, I use the cyanotype technique in turning to harmonize my collections. Natural fibers are on hand to make cushions, dish towels, herb sachets, baskets, potholders and textile paintings… Affordable unique pieces for the care of the soul!
