Philomene Ceramics
Philomène is a Montreal ceramic artist who has shared her time between the Yukon and Quebec for several years. His workshop is located in West Dawson, Yukon on the traditional and contemporary lands of the Tr’ondëk Hwëchin. The 16′ x 9′ studio is completely isolated and surrounded by the forest. This wilderness project is a true labor of love.
Designed to be unique, functional pieces with a pop of color, Philomène’s works are inspired by the wild landscape and her love of travel. His practice, carried out primarily on the wheel, is an exploration of shapes, colors and textures, aiming to create objects that offer the joy of functional art. Philo is currently working on a series of handmade vases, which highlight her interest in flora where she plays with different shapes and colors; nothing is forbidden.
She spent last winter creating as part of an artist collective in Montreal, exploring her creativity through different projects and pushing her skills to a new level. Feeling inspired by her artistic practice, she wishes to exhibit her art in her hometown and be part of Puces POP 2024
