Pretty Decent

Hi! My name is Vanessa and I am the founder of Pretty Decent. I’ve been a visual artist for the past 15 years, with a Masters of Art Degree in Sculpture from the University at Albany, NY, but I tinker in all sorts of media. I am also a carpenter and own a renovations company: Urban Oak Carpentry. The product lineup at Pretty Decent includes playful trinket trays, eye-catching incense/ashtrays, charming candleholders, kitschy coasters, and unique serving boards – all crafted from durable concrete and infused with vivid colors. The work is informed by youth culture, nostalgia and the quirky aesthetics of kitsch.
I’m passionate about the materials I use, and for me, concrete is more than just a medium; it’s magic. My process of casting each piece individually allows for unique imperfections, making every item truly one-of-a-kind.
