Sandy
Sandy is a Lebanese Canadian multidisciplinary artist, producer, and drama therapist based in Montreal.
Born in Lebanon at the end of the civil war and witnessing subsequent conflicts, she immigrated to Canada in 2010.
With a background in theater, recreation and leisure studies, psychology, and drama therapy, she has applied humor in diverse settings, including hospitals, retirement and nursing homes, witnessing its positive impact on resilience. Her experiences underscore the transformative power of humor in navigating life’s challenges.
In her mental health practice, she uses tools from expressive arts therapies, play, humour, and breath work using a trauma-informed approach to navigate therapy sessions.
In her creative practice, she mixes real-life experiences with her active imagination to explore, process, connect, and interact with the world.
Sandy toys with acting, writing, painting, puppets, fashion, and stand up.
While she does other things, mostly, she likes to play!
