Anas & Itran

Anas & Itran is a Montreal-based collective led by Anas Jellouf (also known as Sidi Blue Moon), bringing together a group of friends and musicians from diverse backgrounds. Together, they fuse the ancestral rhythms of Gnawa and Moroccan chaâbi, Algerien Raï with the energy of afrobeat, funk, and trance, creating a sound that is both modern and deeply rooted in African musical traditions. On stage, drums, bass, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, keyboards, and percussion combine to deliver a hypnotic groove, with each musician contributing their own color, story, and creativity. The connection between Anas and his friends makes every performance warm, lively, and spontaneous, transforming the concert into a true collective celebration.

About the name “Itran”
“Itran” means “stars” in Tamazight (the Amazigh language of North Africa). It reflects both the cosmic and ancestral inspiration behind the music, while also symbolizing the collective energy of the band, like stars coming together to form a constellation.
