Sook-Yin Lee

I'm Sook-Yin Lee, a musician and filmmaker based in Toronto. My new album 72RHR is out on Hand Drawn Dracula. The songs are bound by a conceptual framework based on a uniform tempo. 72RHR refers to your resting heart rate, the number of times your heart beats per minute when you are at rest, but achieving a state of calm balance can be challenging. Surrendering to this dynamic results in an album of songs at the meditative tempo of 72BPM that takes listeners on an emotional ride through discord and harmony. Performing live, my anti-band includes Dylan Gamble (of the band Hot Garbage) on guitar, performance artist Sarah Kilpack, and dancer Ronnie Clarke.
