Join us at the Sala Rossa on the one year anniversary of iconic singer Sinead O’Connor’s death for a celebration of her life and music. Proceeds will go to La Maison Bleue in support of young mothers and families in difficult situations. A talented and eclectic group of local musicians will cover O’Connor’s music for a night that promises to be incredible!

According to local curator Tamara Kramer who is co-organizing this show “Sinead O’Connor communed with her fans through the beauty, power, and strength of her voice, lyrics and lifestyle. When she died last year, it was as if many of us had lost an old friend. A troubled friend. A wise teacher. An unshakeable feminist and anti-racist. The Irish star and iconoclast was a dedicated artist, mother and survivor who never shied away from speaking up about the faults of the church, child abuse and her struggles with mental health. She also had a wicked sense of humour.”

The performers for the event are Lapelúda, Bijuriya (musician and beloved drag queen), Alanna Stuart (Bonjay), Mat Holubowski, Erika Angell (Thus Owls) and Katie Moore backed by an all star cast of local musicians including Patty McGee (drums), Marc-André Landry (bass), Sheena Ko (keys), Samara O’Gorman (band) Joe Yarmusch (guitar).
