About the artist: Brigitte Matte dives into the creation of her paintings while surrounded by music. For this exhibition the Montreal-based artist invites us into her CHÂTEAU FRAGILE, the sanctuary where she seeks refuge from the onslaught of information in our daily lives. This exhibition allows us to wander through abstract paintings inspired by nature, with colours that envelop us in their benevolence. Welcome to her haven of colour.

These two exhibitions are the culmination of the Céline Bureau summer residency, showcasing the research, the experimentation and the artworks of six artists. Each project expresses profound insight into the artists’ distinct communities and cultural narratives. By contending with both the material and immaterial, the work prompts us to think about our connections to loved ones, our surroundings and our identities.
