Film POP Full Program

Cinéma Moderne, 5150 St Laurent Blvd

Film POP’s programming explores the world of music and musicians, across all film genres. This year’s program presents 12 screenings, including Québec premieres, standouts from the festival circuit, and local gems. Don’t miss the Québec premiere of Teaches of Peaches, a documentary tribute to queer icon Peaches, and the Canadian premiere of Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird. Other program highlights include Lyd, the story of a city that once connected Palestine to the world, La cancha by local filmmaker Mustafa Uzuner, and On the Go, a unique feminine take on the road movie.

A word about the curator: Sami Zenderoudi is a filmmaker, cultural worker, and media arts teacher. He has worked in the context of artist-run centres, film festivals, gallery exhibitions, and educational institutions. He holds a Media Studies Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies. Sami’s artistic research explores intersections of ecology and cinema along with new ways of representing nature on screen.
